FRI 5TH DEC: ROB DA BANK (BESTIVAL, SUNDAY BEST, RADIO 1), YOUNG
FATHERS (LIVE), DEEP IAIN AKA FUNKY TRANSPORT, CABARET VOLTAIRE, 11PM
ROB DA BANK continues to champion brilliant new music, whatever the
style, with an alternative edge and a serious pop ear on his Radio 1 show as well as in the club and at his world-renown Bestival
party on the Isle of Wight. Expect a proper, party-style dance mash-up
from him. YOUNG FATHERS are a brand new, FRESH rap trio from Edinburgh,
embracing old skool hip hop and electro styles with nu skool production
techniques and a contemporary lyrical style. Their energetic live show
- like De La Soul meets the Jackson 5 - and debut single Straight Back
On It has been creating a small stir on Edinburgh's circuit, championed
by Vic Galloway on Radio 1, with them also performing on the Club NME
tour.
Check the myspace for fresh beats and hot pics! One of the best DJs in
Scotland, DEEP IAIN has released records on Ralph Lawson's 2020 Vision
imprint, among many others, and holds down a residency at one of
Aberdeen's best clubs, Snafu. Iain will be providing support in the
Cab's back room. Something for the serious house heads then.
Party-style mash-ups, hip hop/electro and deep house all under one
roof? Well, that's Trouble, eh? We're future-retro. Are you? Tickets
from Ripping, Underground Solushn, Tickets Scotland and Ticketweb. £8 advance / £10 on the door.

AND FINALLY CHECK OUT THIS SHIZZLE:
In the parlance of our New York cousins, MAD PROPS to 1Xtra's freestyle homeboy with the most smoking new tunes, Benji B,
who opened our ears to a brand new JOINT that's just been released on
Peanut Butter Wolf's immense Stones Throw label (which recently
introduced us to the mighty fine James Pants): Just Ain't Gonna Work Out
by Mayer Hawthorne and The County. Suffice to say this will be 2009's
Crazy (Gnarls Barkley) and is right at the top of the Trouble chart
right now. Featuring other new KILLERS from Q Tip and Theo Parrish,
among many others, Benji's show was a proper belter last week. Check it
out here
Thanks for reading this far and thank you for your continued support.
