Example’s CV to date boasts backing vocals on The Streets forthcoming album, not on merit but rather he could make sounds so strange that Mike Skinner simply had to record them. Here’s his second foray, a double A-side on his own label All The Chats, this time with Rusher on beat duties and Example going solo on the microphone. Both tunes have an undeniable crossover appeal, probably more Jo Whiley than Joe Buddha, with infectious choruses hooks and beats that skip along at a pace to keep even the most fidgety satisfied. The lack of true edge is hidden to a certain extent by Example’s storytelling abilities, jumping around from bowls of Frosties to Daniela Westbrook to suddenly finding yourself in a girls bedroom, this is one to check for fans of GLC, The Streets and K-OS.
