Dabrye - Two/Three (Ghostly)

Tadd Mullinix aka Dabrye, with 'Two/Three', the second step in his evolutionary hip-hop cycle, has created an album that is sure to make an indelible mark on the progressive hip hop scene. With a formidable crew of mcs + collabarators (MF Doom, Beans, Wajeed, Wildchild, Guilty Simpson) and an unrivalled attention to detail Mullinix's sound has set a benchmark for a new wave of producers. Minimalist, crackling trap kit beats and rhythmic innovation battle against gossamer melodies and jazz influenced basslines for the listeners attention. Impossible to take in with one listen, the album grows with every rotation. It's that rare thing, a meticulously sculpted album that retains the soul element. If only all hip hop was this good.
