With dubstep on the rise, it’s a timely release for this second album from a man who has made heavy, bass-led music his signature style. Stereotyp is Vienna’s Stefan Moerth and Keepin Me is once again delivered courtesy of local heroes Kruder & Dormeister, who own G-Stone. Previous releases marked Stereotyp out as a dancefloor decimator, but what really sets this one apart is its fusion of soul, hip hop and R ‘n’ B styles with that floor-shaking bass. Having splashed out on a top-grade new microphone and invited myriad vocal talents into the studio – not least twenty-one-year-old Sandra Kurzweil, whose rich gospel style marks her out as a future star – Keepin Me boasts also fellow G-Stone stalwarts Hubert Tubbs and Cesar Sampson and, following a chance meeting at a Wu Tang Clan gig in Vienna, Cappadonna. This is solid stuff all the way. Excellent.
