Democustico's debut album, released late October through Far Out recordings can truly claim to encapsulate the worldwide sound in its purest form...the result of a 4 year London - Rio relationship.
Where others have failed to bring varying global styles together, Democustico's attempts display a coherence and deep knowledge of the past. Sitars and Brazilian rhythm's quite happily sit next to each other under Gabriela Geluda's mellifluous, gliding vocals. Roc Hunter, far outs in house production maestro, lends the project a subtle injection of the West London sound, creating a niche that Democustico can claim to be all their own.
With fans already including such names as Laurent Garnier, Gilles Peterson and Radio 3's champion of all things worldwide, Andy Kershaw, Far Out look to have another big record on their hands.
