The fact that this is the 33rd mix in the series of Fabric Live CDs is illustration in itself that they keep going because the product is always high quality. The series has covered electro (The Glimmers), funk (DJ Format), broken beat (Bugz In The Attic), d&b (DJ Hype) and now they return to house music with a mix from Ralph Lawson.
Ralph played a key part in the development of one of the UK’s most widely recognised club brands and well loved record labels. As a resident at Back To Basics from day one and a founding partner in 20:20 Vision, he has been a champion of both good times and good music.
This is a reliable and often understated mix covers a range of producers for purists such as John Tejada, Dennis Ferrer and Swag mixed up with artists who have found their home amongst the electro-set; The Rapture, The Emperor Machine and Justus Kohncke. It sounds good at home, and as I witnessed at Edinburgh’s Solescience last week, it sounds great in a club too.
