Various Artists, Fabric Live 33: Spank Rock (Fabric)

Spank Rock produced one of the most celebrated hip hop albums of 2006 dropping YoYoYoYoYoYo for Ninja Tune offshoot Big Dada. The Fabric Live 33 CD reflects their rare DJ sets and is another ultra-eclectic selection in the series.

The mix is a rough and ready block party blend of electro, 80s, dance rock, hip-hop and really everything else you can imagine, albeit based around a dancefloor friendly house tempo. Old music rubs shoulders with new in this frantic selection.  The selection includes crossover dance anthems from the last 12 months such as Hot Chick by Uffie, Over and Over by Hot Chip and A Bit Patchy by Switch.  Troublemakers will know old school stand-outs like The Breaks by Kurtis Blow and Bostich by Yellow.  The CD finally brings its 27 tracks to an end with a brilliant soul record - Love To The World by LTD.

Regardless of your tastes in hip-hop, electro or the Baltimore sound; this CD is worthy of further investigation and is guaranteed to get a house party rocking.
