The Trouble crew came around at the perfect time for me, I was getting pretty tired of the drum n bass MCing that I had been doing since I arrived in Edinburgh and I was yearning for something a little more eclectic and funky. So just when I thought I was going to hang up my mic for good The Rookie phoned me up and invited me down to a Trouble resident night offering me the mic and a hyperactive crowd; things seemed to click, I could be far more experimental and melodic with the spectral selection of music these guys play and the tempo is ever changing so as an MC you never get locked into monotony. Since then The Trouble crew have taken me under their wing educating me in the ways of the worldwide music scene and giving me the opportunity of Mcing with some of the biggest names in the business, and what fun we've had. I am all about the element of surprise; no one expects a suited and booted white boy with a floppy haircut to be an MC! --------------------------------------------
Ratty B's Trouble residency came to an end when he left Edinburgh in Summer 2007, having completed his Fine Art Masters at Edinburgh College Of Art. Unsurprisingly, the young jester and MC/live performer extraordinaire has gone on to develop an incredibly entertaining live act called The Correspondents, alongside his old friend Mr Chuckles and has reverted to his more mature, formal, but also real name of Mr Bruce for their incendiary stage shows and studio productions. The Correspondents are amassing a large and loyal fan-base in and around London and have recently been picked up on by original Ratty B fan Rob Da Bank, who had The Correspondents performing two high profile live sets at Bestival 2009 (Big Top and Main Stage). Keep an eye on their myspace to stay up to date with The Correspondents progress. And, for bookings, email: thecorrespondents@hotmail.co.uk |
